Following in the footsteps of our last “Live Greener” post a couple of weeks ago, and hot off the heels of Earth Day this past weekend, here are some tips and tweaks to help you continue celebrating Earth Day, living greener, and saving some money all year ’round!

Turn Off the Tap – If you’re not immediately using water from the sink, then make sure it’s turned off. Try not to leave it running when you’re brushing your teeth or shaving (etc.).

Leaky Faucet – Bearing the aforementioned ideology in mind, if you’ve got a leaky faucet then that’s water literally going down your drain and driving up your water bill. Be sure to contact us at the office (877-674-5594) or file a maintenance ticket online.

Bathing & Dishwashing – Unless you’re an infant, then don’t try bathing in the sink (We’re just sayin’!). But yeah, in terms of equity, you can save money by washing a full load of dishes and pots in your dishwasher instead of washing them individually in your sink.  Under this same premise, you’ll use less water taking a brief (5-10 minutes) shower then you would for bath that fills most of the tub. In brevity, wash your dishes in the dishwasher, and take showers not baths.

Try these tips and tweaks out for a few months, and monitor your water bill. You may be surprised at how much money you’re saving.
