Sugar Land Implements New Money Saving Recycling Program

It may not be in an elephant shaped container, but any recycling helps you, the environment, and oftentimes your wallet,
Sugar Land has implement a new solid waste disposal and recycling program that will help the city be a little more green and also help it save some more green–Around $800,000 a year to be exact.
On light pick up routes an automated truck will now do the collection, while the workers that previously worked those routes have been re-routed to work heavier routes and to handle the recycling routes. Over all, the new system has a goal to reduce cost and to increase recycling. The new system will also make the garbage collection process a speedier event while cutting down on the number of trucks necessary to serve the city. This cuts down on monetary maintenance of the system and will help the city’s budget.
What are you doing to go green in your apartment? There are plenty of ways for you save money as well by going green.
